From Ferdinand von Mueller to Otto Tepper   26 Feb 1884

Drouin, 26/2/84

Drouin,2 26/2/84

It is very kind of you, respected Mr Tepper, that you intend to send me some things for the exhibition;3 they shall be exhibited in your name. Do not trouble yourself on account of the wood examples, there is not enough time to dry and to process them.

Respectfully and wishing you all good things

Ferd. von Mueller.

Could you not be sent to Europe for a year to get surplus specimens from many museums and at the same time to see what you are able to send back from South Australia? Such a journey, not very expensive at all, would be a marvellous turning point in your fortune.

Certainly do not keep back your plant specimens on account of my illness, because such light work is a relaxation and intellectual refreshment.

It was too cold for me on the coast when the frequent antarctic gales blew, I have now gone with my official assistant4 into a forest region of Gippsland.

antarctischen?
