To Thomas Wilson   21 March 1884

21/3/84.

T. R. Wilson Esqr.

Undersecretary.

In reply to your telegram of this day1 I have the honor to inform you, that the late C. Groener left a will, by which his widow is sole heiress of his property and also sole administratrix. But as no real estate and very little other property was left by him, she does not intend to take out any letter of administration, in order to save the expense.

I have the honor to be,

Sir,

Your obedient servant

Ferd. von Mueller.

See T. Wilson to M, 21 March 1884 (in this edition as 84-03-21a).
