Dear Baron Mueller

I have to thank you for the 9th Decade of your Excellent work on the Gums1 and also for the first Annual Supplt of the very useful Census of A. Plants2

Re. the Dischidia Rafflesiana Wall. Do you intend this name to take the place of D. Timorensis — You may remember that years ago I sent ours of Cape York (the one which bears pitchers) to you as D. Rafflesiana but you gave me the name of D. Timorensis do you now make these two plants identical? Also is the Stenotaphrum dimediatum Bro3 identical with S. americanum Schrank. I think you will agree to your Bulbophyllum Taylori being placed in Dendrobium.4 My name of D. uniflos will of course lapse. The little Bulbophyllum I wrote you about I have called B. purpurascens5 — by the bye is Fitzgeralds figure of B. Shepherdi6 correct? I never saw the plant and when I first got this new one thought it that species I have been very unwell for some time and am starting for the country for a few days hoping your health is still improving believe me very dear Friend

Your faithfully

F. M. Bailey
