"Gruie, Warrongan or Colaine" are the names locally applied to this tree in the Brewarrina district.1 It resembles the Pepper tree (Schinus molle) in appearance and is very handsome when in fruit. Its branches spread from the trunk to a height of about 8 to 10 ft from the ground, and it forms a good shade tree.

It grows on the plains amongst White Box, Wilga, Yarren, and other trees, in dry red clayey loam. Bark dark coloured, slightly furrowed. Fruit very acrid. […]2
