From Ferdinand von Mueller to Otto Tepper   25 July 1885

25/7/85

Folgende Pilz-Benennungen, lieber Herr Tepper, sind mir durch Hr. Dr. Cooke zugekommen nach Ex. von Ihnen.

904

Agaricus sobrius Fries

906

Agaricus umbelliformis Fr.

884

Agaricus spumosus Fr

894

Polyporus oblectans Berk.

890

Secotium coarctatum Berkeley

749.

850

Agaricus sideroides Fr

880

Agaricus fasciculatus

881

Hygrophorus ceraceus Fr

905

Clavaria rugosa Fr

Bestens grüssend

Ferd. von Mueller.

The following names of fungi, dear Mr Tepper, have come to me through Dr Cooke from specimens from you.1

904 Agaricus sobrius Fries
906 Agaricus umbelliformis Fr.
884 Agaricus spumosus Fr
894 Polyporus oblectans Berk.
890 Secotium coarctatum Berkeley
749. Dacrymyces (incomplete)

It is very kind that you will send me the plants of Mr Arthur Bennett; I would receive them by Tate's, or McCulloch's agency there,2 without your accruing expenses.

Your paper on the orchids is cleverly and instructively written.3 I no longer accept sepals in the case of orchids but now calyx lobes, because a calyx tube surrounds the ovary.

887 Agaricus inquilinus Fr.
888 Agaricus tener Fr.
889 Agaricus pediades Fr or a closely related species
850 Agaricus sideroides Fr
880 Agaricus fasciculatus

905 Clavaria rugosa Fr

Best greetings

Ferd. von Mueller.
