Ich sende Ihnen die Rinde des Pandamus wovon Sie kürzlich die 2 kleinen Drupes mit den selbiegen von P pedunculatum [erhalten] zu vergleichen ob es ein neue spc sein mochte.

Erstere spc mit d. kleine Drupes der Baum ist für gewöhnlich hoher im Habitus u stärker in Durchmesser die Blätter 5-6 I lange an der Edge mehr dentat die andern pedunculata mehr [feiner] prikly u serrat zu sein scheint die unterwachsen Rinde ist ohne Zweifel ein Parasitischer Gewächs so viel ich ohne Vergrösserungs Glass vermuthe überzeugt sind die Drupes doch ganz verschieden in Grösse von P. pedunculatum hier vorkommen. Ich habe verschiedene mehre Bäume seit dem gefunden u die Drupes von derselbigen Grösse gefunden. Solten Sie [ferner] etwas darauf bezug habend wünschen bitte gefl. mitzutheilen u gütigst zu bemerken ob es eine verschieden spc ist u ob die Aussenseite der Rinde ein Parasitisches Gewächs vieleicht schon bekant ist etc.

I am sending you the bark of the Pandanus of which you will shortly receive the two small drupes with the same from P. pedunculatum ¹ to compare whether it might be a new species.

The first species with the small drupes of the tree is usually taller in habit and larger in diameter, the leaves 5-6 inches longer on the edge more dentate the other pedunculat[a] seems to be more [finer] prickly serrate the under-bark growth is without doubt a parasitic plant so much I suspect without a magnifying glass but I am convinced the drupes are quite different in size from P. pedunculatum occurring here. I have since found various more trees and the drupes of the same size. Should you desire having some of them for consideration please kindly communicate and kindly remark whether it is a different sp. and whether the outer side of the bark a parasitic plant is perhaps already known etc.
