From Ferdinand von Mueller to Alphonse de Candolle   26 Jan 1886

26/1/86

Let me thank you, honored and venerable Sir, for your goodness of sending me again some of your ever valuable essays.1

The lithograms of Myoporinae, sent to you, were samples (proof plates). The Atlas with 76 plates2 will appear complete in time for the London-Exhibition,3 and I shall feel happy to send you soon the bound volume. The text will appear later; if you desire it for the monographiae phanerogamarum, I will place it gratis at your disposal, so far as diagnoses are concerned.4

The loss of M. Boissier is very regrettable.5 I felt particularly attached to him, as he was an opponent to the transmutation-theory

Regardfully ever

your

Ferd. von Mueller.
