My dear Baron,

May I ask of you the favor to inform me whether the inclosed plant is not Gossypium Sturtïi or very near it. It was found near Glen Innes in the New England district1 — and I send you all that I got of it. The Calyx [w]as split by myself as I [named] the plant in a dried state.
