To Edward Ramsay   18 February 1886

18/2/86.

It will be encouraging to you, dear Mr Ramsay, when I tell you, that the Grand Master of Algologists, Professor Agardh found a new species of Chylocladia among your seaweeds, and described it as Ch. Ramsayana in the Åreskrift. Besides you discovered a new Fauchea, to which he gave the name F. nitophylloides.1 Much remains yet to be done for the Algology of N.SW.

If you have even only a few of the Parrots ready,2 kindly send them over, and let me know your outlay, so that I may refund it at once by a P.O. Order.

Regardfully your

Ferd. von Mueller.

Chylocladia Ramsayana

Fauchea nitophylloides

Both new species were described in Agardh (1885a), pp. 46 and 39 respectively.
See M to E. Ramsay, 26 March 1885 and 18 September 1885.
