To Odoardo Beccari   24 February 1886

24/2/86

I thank you, dear Prof Beccari, for kindly sending me the new part of your magnificent Malesia.1

What an amount of learning displayed in it, and what a fountain of novel information! The 8th part of my Papuan plants2 is under the press, and I hope to send by one of the next mails an impression.

With regardful remembrance

your

Ferd von Mueller

Kind salutation also to the Chevalier D’Albertis.3

I shall be able to send you some dried plants in 1886 for your Museum, the Exhibition-duties being now for London at an end.4

Beccari (1877-90); presumably vol. 2, part 2, issued 28 September 1885 (TL2).
