This morning, dear Mr Macdonald, I got your postcard,1 inviting me to meet Baron Von Bebra2 at your office. This is a kind thoughtfulness of yours; but I feel quite unwell, indeed shall probably have to keep on the sickbed to day; it is probably the effect of the protracted heat in my very small dwelling that made me ill. Indeed I felt "out of sorts" already yesterday.
Thus I am sorry to miss the chance of seeing the distinguished W.A. colonist, with whom I exchanged a few letters many years ago.3 Perhaps he will kindly give me his present W.A. adress, so that I may write to him.
