As long as Divine Providence still grants me strength, dear Mr Tepper, I will continue working on the investigation of the vegetation of Australia in the widest sense; therefore it probably does not need my assurance that I will feel happy to investigate your new plants and whatever rare things you send immediately.
Recently your friends sent such poor specimens that my heart sank, in spending the time on the mostly futile work of naming,1 at any rate you have brought good material for working on.
Today comes a list of lichen names from Geneva, where Professor J. Mueller accomplishes gloriously in lichenology.2 I add a few things here that were submitted from your collections.3
Always amicably your
Ferd. von Mueller.
