On 19 April Wilson, the Under Secretary, minuted: 'This account was forwarded to the Government Botanist in order that it might be charged against his votes. The account is again forwarded to the Govt Botanist in order that it may be charged as above.' M replied on 21 April: 'The account has now been detached and sent on to the treasury'.

MS is a minute on the file. On 12 April 1886 the Government Printer, J. Ferres, submitted an account to Wilson as Under Secretary for printing the new edition of Select extra-tropical plants (B85.12.03). The account was for £138, 'the amount reserved by the Government Botanist towards the printing of the work'. Wilson forwarded Ferres's account to M the next day.
