To Thomas Wilson   21 August 1886

Saturday

I think it best right, dear Mr Wilson, that I should take officially notice of the remarks, made against the "Key" by a Correspondent of the Argus of this day;1 and I should be very much obliged if you would beg of our honorable Chief, that this explanation of mine2 may be allowed to go to the Argus for publication. I may remark, that a very appreciative reference to this part of the Key appeared in the London Gardeners Chronicle lately.3

With regardful remembrance

your

Ferd. von Mueller

Excuse, that the letter was no4 rewritten; I am so busy for the outgoing P & O mail.
