At a meeting on 6 October 1886, Council granted certificates in General Botany to Emily Coundon, Thomas Day, Margaret Douglas and Mary Amy Lee in accordance with the recommendations of M's examiner's report (School of Mines Ballaarat, minute book, School of Mines and Industries Ballarat Limited).
