Circular

Public Service Board

Melbourne 5th November 1886

Sir,

I am directed by the Public Service Board to call your attention to the 49th clause of the General Regulations under Section 77 of the Public Service Act and to request that you will be so good as to cause directions to be given for the proper compliance therewith in the various branches of your Department.

Application is occasionally made to the Board for copies of the Regulations in question which ought to have been obtained in the manner prescribed.

The Board has noticed that in the country districts especially the Regulations are not always available for reference. It would also remark that in some cases misapprehension would be removed if copies of the Public Service Act were also supplied. The Board has a number of the latter on hand which could be used if desired for distribution.

I have &c

H. J. Gomm
