Melbourne 11th November, 1886.

Sir,

I have the honor by direction of the Board, to request that all changes in your Department for the month of October may be forwarded at once.

I have further to request that you will, as far as possible, avoid changes and transfers in your Department during the month of December. The returns of such changes as are unavoidable during that month must be in the hands of the Board not later than 4th January 1887, in order that the Classified List of officers may be published, as required under the Act, in the month of January.
