I beg to inform you that payment of the second moiety of a probationary officer's salary can now be made by means of an "advance", which should be applied for in the usual manner.

On the confirmation of the appointment at the end of probation, the retained salary will be available for the adjustment of the advance obtained from the Honorable the Treasurer as now mentioned.
