Colonial and Indian Exhibition, London, 1886.

Erythrophloem?

M. parvifolia?

A. pavonina?

See M to M. Holtze, 21 March 1886; M to M. Holtze, 30 May 1886; and M to M. Holtze, 13 August 1886.

E. ramiflora is a Japanese species named by Gray; Holtze's 1885 specimen of Euodia elleryana (MEL 67569) has the collecting number 47.

Undated list in Holtze's hand, probably initially drawn up in early 1886, to accompany the timber specimens that Holtze sent to London for the Colonial and Indian Exhibition that opened there in May 1886. The list's being found among the correspondence that Holtze received from M suggests that it may have been a copy of this list, or one closely related to it, that M acknowledged receiving from Holtze in M to M. Holtze, 7 January 1887. On this basis, the present item is dated, as an item of M's correspondence, to December 1886, as the latest possible date that Holtze in Darwin could have sent the list, for M to receive it in Melbourne in early January 1887. A month before the list reached him, M received from Holtze a set of timber samples, probably duplicates of those listed here; see M's acknowledgement in M to M. Holtze, 3 December 1886 (in this edition as 86-12-03b). The effusiveness of M's acknowledgement of the list suggests that it was the original list for which he was thanking Holtze, not the copy he later requested after mislaying the original (see M to M. Holtze, 1887 (in this edition as 87-00-00b)).

Holtze showed specimens of the same species (or the same specimens returned from London?) in Adelaide in 1887 (Scott (1887), pp. 253-4).
