I have the honor to submit for your favorable consideration a letter from the Honorable the Commissioner of Agriculture, Washington,2 in which that gentleman desires to be supplied with decades 8 and 9 of the Eucalyptographia, published at the Govt. Printing Office.

M's letter was referred to the Premier who authorized the request and issued 'the necessary instructions'. E. Thomas, Under Secretary, then returned it to the Chief Secretary's Department on 21 Febrary from where it was forwarded to M for information. He replied 'with best thanks' on 23 February. On 1 June 1887 the Acting Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division, wrote from Washington thanking the Premier for the gift (P87/2283, unit 112, VPTS 1163/P1, PROV).
