From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Weekly Times   [Mar 1887]1

[Specimen of Plants. — J. J. W., Kaniva.2 —The specimen forwarded is Templetonia Muelleri. Eight specimens3 of Templetonia are now known, all Australian, but as yet no poison cases traceable to any of them have come under notice. Nevertheless, it is not at all improbable that these plants are injurious and Baron Von Mueller advises that our correspondent, as an experiment, should tether a calf or sheep on a spot where the Templetonia is growing for a day or two, whereby its properties, poisonous or other wise, could easily be detected.]
