Dr Muller Esq

Sir: —

Thanking you for your kind letter2 containing such valuable advise which you wrote to me.

I got a man to look at the vineyard and he said it was the "Odium" caused through insufficient sulpher although I sulphered them two or three times. The grapes this year are all spoilt but nil desperandum3 I will perhaps have better luck next year. I herewith send you a few of the deseased leaves.

Since the late heavy rains I could not find any of those grubs.

I remain,

Your obedient servant,
