The Acacia, sent by you, dear Dr Ramsay, is A. Osswaldi.1 Such specimens are always valuable, —as you say—, for record of locality. Fruiting specimens of many of the far-inland Acacias are in many cases yet unknown.

Described as Acacia oswaldi in B63.09.01, p. 5, but see M to W. Gill, 19 May 1893 (in this edition as 93-05-19a).
M had been trying to encourage an expedition to Mt Seaview, in the Hastings River district of NSW; see M to Linnean Society of New South Wales, March 1887 (in this edition as 87-03-00c), and M to E. Ramsay, 18 March 1887.
