To David Lindsay   2 April 1887

2/4/87

Let me offer my best felicitation, dear Mr Lindsay, to your election into the great geographic Society of England, a honor which by your extensive toilsome and important discovery-travels you have so well earned.1

As you are yet far from the zenith of ordinary life, let me hope, that you will enjoy your fellowship far into the next century. I trust also, that this geographic standing will have a favorable influence on your abilities and zeal for exploratory work being more fully recognized in practical life.

With regardful remembrance your

Ferd von Mueller.

See D. Lindsay to M, 21 March 1887.
