To Francis Kyngdon1    23 April 1887

23/4/87.

Dear Sir

It needs not my assurance, that I shall not fail, to place the R. S. of N.S.W. on the list of recipients when the text of the myopor. plants appears; but as I have undertaken to write for De Candolles great serial “Monographiae phanerogamarum” the Myoporinae, to that precedence must be given. afterwards the descriptive part will appear in the English Language, though in a somewhat altered form.2

Regardfully

your

Ferd. von Mueller.

Myoporinae

Kyngdon was acting as Secretary of the Royal Society of NSW in the absence of Archibald Liversidge, who had a year's sabbatical leave in 1887.
M had published a volume of lithograms of Myoporinous plants in 1886 (B86.13.21), without accompanying text. Neither his promised account for Candolle's series nor the promised English-language work was ever published.
