Although his death registration (Victoria, register of deaths, 1926, number 1828) gives his name as Daniel Hawthorne Ridge, the RGS certificate and printed lists of members all have Hartshorne as the middle name, as do Australian Electoral Rolls, for example, the 1924 'Roll of electors for the Subdivision of Carlton South', p. 84.
vide letter is written in an unknown hand to the left ofDescription. No letter concerning Ridge or from him has been found in the RGS archives.
The body of the certificate was completed by Macdonald.

The space for 'elected' is blank, but 'Elected Nov 28th' written on back of certificate.
