To Edward Ramsay   18 November 1887

18/11/87

As I am just pushing the "key to the syst. of Vict. plants"1 through the press, dear Dr Ramsay, I will not trouble you just now to send the Boletus; you may mean while get a few other specimens. To define the species accurately, it needs record of the fresh colors. Several of our Austral. species of Boletus, and indeed of many other genera of fungs are identical with European species. The spores are carried with traffic widely over the whorld.2 Can I do anything for you? I am still most eager to get specimens with organs of reproduction, to elucidate fully the Claudea Bennettiana.

Always regardfully your

Ferd. von Mueller.

Many of the Central Austral. Acacias cannot yet be illustrated for want of fruit Kindly tell this any friends of yours in the far interior
