From Ferdinand von Mueller to Otto Tepper   20 Dec 1887

20/12/87.

Quite overcome by the pressure of departmental work, dear Mr Tepper, to which also still come many geographical obligations, I send you meanwhile only a hasty written list of the names of the last plants,1 but thank you quite particularly for the friendly best wishes for Christmas and New Year and for the beautiful memento that you sent me.

In my far advanced age2 it always remains very uncertain whether one will experience another turn of the year.

May Divine Providence also confer a year full of happiness and joy on you, followed by many other joyful annual stages, for the good of science and for the contact with the many who regard you highly.3
