From Ferdinand von Mueller to Maurice Holtze   7 Feb 1888

7/2/88

A. arabica1 should become important there and grow well, dear Mr Holtze. I haven't received anything from you for a long time. How are things working out with Medicago scutellata and M. orbicularis. Have you got the true Panicum spectabile?(not Andropogon halepensis which was sent from Adelaide as Coapim)

Best wishes

Ferd. von Mueller

Acacia arabica

Andropogon halepensis

Medicago orbicularis

Medicago scutellata

Panicum spectabile

Acacia arabica. M evidently knew that the introduced source of gum arabic was already growing and mature at Darwin, NT. In M to M. Holtze, 4 May 1888 (in this edition as 88-05-04b) he asked for fresh seed, which he acknowledged receiving in M to M. Holtze, 20 October 1881 (in this edition as 88-10-20a).
