During the time, esteemed Mr Tepper, in which, as incidental work, I had to develop the Key,1 I could only devote time to real phytography if it concerned the determination of some yet unknown species, such as in the case of Haloragis & Goodenia, and so some specimens of yours also then came under observation.
104 of Hon. J. Newland = Goodenia Chambersi.2
46 of the same collector = G. cycloptera (genuine!)3
As I shall now soon be finished with the above-mentioned work and the work for the International Exhibition4 has also been dealt with after some months, I can then probably, if only the Divine will permits further life, also continue working describing and naming for the Flora of Australia.
With best greetings
Ferd. von Mueller
If you yourself could only go once collecting to Lake Eyre.5
Haloragis
Goodenia Chambersi
Goodenia cycloptera
