From Ferdinand von Mueller to Jacob Agardh   1 June 1888

1/6/88

Today, noble Friend, I am sending you some algae just arrived from Israelite Bay1 that Miss Brooks (not Brooke as I wrote previously from her indistinct signature)2 sent me. There are some forms quite new for me among them: but I am sending you even Dasyphila3 and other common species, because the locality may still be new for them. The locality is moreover very remarkable, since at the western end of the "Great Bight"4 not only the eastern and western phanerogams meet, but probably also in so far as the algae. Always honouring you

Ferd. von Mueller

Some early notes would certainly soon further encourage this young intelligent woman to continue collecting at the rich place.

Dasyphilia
