From Ferdinand von Mueller to Henry Moors   1 Oct 1888

The Index of the "Select plants" (seventh edition1 is just passing through the press, so that copies of the work ought to be available in the course of this month. The Gov Printer would be able to say, how long the stitching or binding will take.2

On 3 October, T. Wilson, Under Secretary, asked the Government Printer 'when the work is likely to be ready for issue'. The Government Printer replied on 11 October saying: 'A small portion of the M.S. has, I understand, yet to be received. The work can be published a week after the proof of this matter has been returned for press.' Deakin signed off the file on 12 October.

MS is a memorandum on the file. The Chief Secretary, A. Deakin, had asked on 28 September when the book would be ready, and Moors referred the question to M the next day 'for early report'.
