From Henry Rusden to Ferdinand von Mueller   28 Oct 18881

75 Greville St

Prahran

28th October 18882

My dear Baron

Many thanks for your note of 20th instant3 enclosing Mr Thiselton Dyers letter, which I will attend to at once. Some of the volumes he wants are out of print and cannot be furnished.4 I do not know how it is that the later ones are missing. I believe they have been forwarded. I think I had better perhaps write to Mr Dyer and explain that they have been sent addressed to Botanical Gardens Kew instead of to Royal Gardens, Kew. Perhaps they may be recoverable.

Trusting that you are now quite recovered5 I am my dear Baron

Yours sincerely

H. K. Rusden

Hon Sec6

I return Mr Dyer's letter7

See M to W. Thiselton-Dyer, 30 October 1888 (in this edition as 88-10-30a), to which this was an enclosure.

Date stamped Royal Gardens Kew 10. Dec. 88.

Letter not found.

Thiselton-Dyer had evidently asked for volumes of the Transactions of the Royal Society of Victoria to complete the holdings at Kew.

M had been incapacitated following a fall from a tram some weeks earlier.

Royal Society of Victoria

PS is written to the left of the valediction. Letter not found.
