My dear Baron

Thank you very heartily for your letter of the 2nd1 which appears to have been delayed on the way. The table of Derivations of Generic & Specific Names was printed for the "Forest Flora"2 some three weeks ago so that I have been unable to avail myself of the note kindly sent on Beilschmiedia although the information is quite new to me. More of the others had been anticipated.

The supposed Colobanthus was sent to Kew as "Colobanthus sp"?some two years ago or more, but could obtain no information. I have no idea of publishing it until flowers can be obtained of which there is but little prospect at present as it was picked in an out-of-the-way place in the extreme South. It is evidently a very early flowering plant.

Have you any monoecious species of Chenopodium in Australia? I enclose specimens of one which interested me vastly, & has just been described.

With all kind regards & thanks,

Believe me to be

Yours truly

T. Kirk
