From Robert Watson to Ferdinand von Mueller   7 Aug 1889

7th August [188]91

My dear Baron,

I forward with this some samples of wood, bark, fruit & leaves of timber grown in the Avoca district2 which is similar to that which the Contractors propose to supply as red gum. Will you have the goodness to examine the specimens sent and inform me as to the true variety of this Eucalypt, and if suitable for railway purposes.

I am, My dear Baron

Yours very truly

Robt Watson
