From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Gardeners' Chronicle   [Nov 1889]

[Through the favour of Baron von Mueller, we have received advance sheets containing the descriptions of the plants collected in the highlands of New Guinea by Sir William Macgregor.]1

The article summarises and comments upon the text of B90.06.04.

Letter not found. The text given here is from 'New Guinea plants', Gardeners' chronicle, 4 January 1890, p. 18. It is dated to November 1889 as the latest likely date that it could have been sent to have been reported in this issue. This is consistent with the date that William MacGregor gave to his Annual Report on British New Guinea, 18 November 1889, in which M's report was published (B90.06.04).
