From Robert Fitzgerald to Ferdinand von Mueller   9 Dec 1889

Adraville,

Hunters Hill,1

9th Decr 89

Dear Baron

The specimen of Prasophyllum Frenchii came two days after I wrote to you, and I was able to make a drawing from it. It comes very close indeed to P. fuscum I can see no distinction from the form I obtained in South Australia except that the petals are bent [falcatily] downwards, that the labellum is a little longer as also the wings of the column.

I remain Dear Baron

yours truly

Robt D Fitzgerald

If you happen to recognise the tree of which I inclose leaves I would be much obliged for the name. They grew from a fruit about the size of an apple, of which I once sent you a drawing.2 It was obtained on the Richmond River.3

A drawing of species was sent again with R. Fitzgerald to M, 14 December 1889; it is not known when a version was originally sent. R. Fitzgerald to M, 3 January 1891 contains further information about the species.
