To Édouard Bornet   18 April 1890

18/4/90.

It needs not my assurance, dear Dr Bornet, that I shall feel particular pleasure of sending my Algs to so illustrious a phycologist as yourself; but the supply of material for distribution is at present exhausted. It seems to me best, if I forwards Algs to you in a crude state, especially as you wish to study further minute forms, such adhering always more or less to the larger Algs. You can easier soak up and prepare the specimens there, than I can do here.

I have adressed you in the English language, which I write more fluently than yours, but I understand French quite well.

With expression of my high regards your

Ferd. von Mueller

At last we have rediscovered Amansia mammilaris1; it grows at Champion-Bay, W.A.

Best salutations to your celebrated Prof Pasteur of whom I am a great admirer.
