Allow me, honored Sir, to submit a letter1 from Mr J. P. Thomson, Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Secretary of the Queensland-branch of the R.G.S.A., who likes to be exempted from the monetary obligations, which the fellowship of the R.G.S. entails.2
Would you kindly give me your opinion, whether the rule, to which he refers, would apply to his case.
Will you kindly also get the additional support there for the Candidature of Mr Milroy?3

James Park Thomson was not a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society but was FRGS Scotland.

D. W. Freshfield and H. Seebohm were joint secretaries of the Royal Geographical Society at this date. The letter could also have been addressed to S. J. Evis, the Chief Clerk.
