From William Woolls to Ferdinand von Mueller   10 Oct 1890

My dear Baron,

The flowers of Cryptandra amara are white (dull white) & downy, but they change to a reddish brown colour when dry. I have noticed this also in several of the white Epacrids.

When I was lately walking in the bush near Brownlow Hill,2 I came upon a fine specimen of Aphanopetalum resinosum, covering the butt of a Spotted Gum (E. maculata)3 for about 20 feet, the upper part being a mass of white flowers. It was a very pretty object. By the way Bentham described it as sometimes a tree.4 This is incorrect. It is a climbing or straggling shrub

Thanks for seeds

Yours very Sincerely

W. Woolls
