Wm Potter deleted and markedS.O. ’90. [i.e. 'Struck Off 1890']. See Potter's certificate, 4 September 1878 (in this edition as 78-09-04).

Annotation: Never Qualified.

Smith had previously been elected FRGS on 13 May 1889, based on a certificate dated 19 February 1889 signed by Robert T. Litton, E. Delmar Morgan and J. A. Grant. That cetificate is annotated 'died 1910', suggesting that Smith was a Fellow in good standing from 1889 until his death. The handwriting indicates that the present certificate was completed by William Potter and countersigned by Bride and M.
