From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Gardeners' Chronicle   [Feb 1891]

In the New Zealandian Alps, near Mount Cook, occurs a variety of Ranunculus Lyalli, with serrated petals, which especially deserves introduction into horticulture, as this splendid plant has become in its ordinary form already a favourite with British gardeners in this variety. It was discovered by Mr. Huddlestone and some surveyors, and would likely become reproduced from seeds.

Baron von Mueller.
