[Yackandandah, March 4,189. Dear Sir, - My old friend Baron von Mueller having sent me your letter, the inquiry contained in which should have been made to me, I have much pleasure to inform you in answer to your questions:]
Letter not found. The text given here is from Mercury (Hobart), 11 March 1891, p. 2, col. g. Augustus Mueller's letter was addressed to 'Mr. Rushton, chemist, of Hobart', who sent it to the Mercury. The letter contained details of A. Mueller's injection of nitrate of strychnine as a treatment of snake bite. See A. Mueller (1888); Campbell (1968) discusses controversies around its use. M's letter is dated to late February as the earliest likely date to have been sent.
