To Alfred Cogniaux   28 March 1891

Herewith, dear Prof Cogniaux, I beg to send you two melastom. plants, found on Mt. Yule in British New Guinea, which is 11,000 feet high, and has lately been ascended for the first time by an expedition, sent out by the Victorian geographic Society, of which I am President. As you are just working on Melastomaceae, I send these two to you. This is all I have of them, only these fragments.

With regardful remembrance
