Dear Sir
I received your favour1 in due course and feel thankful for your very excellent explanations of the question previously submitted to W Botting Hemsley. I will comply with your request and have your letter printed for distribution.2 — I have I believe found a tree of Caprifoliacea, and post to you a small paper Box contg.3 Three green fruits two leaves attached to stems, also several fallen dry fruits and, I hope, you may find the Gallflowers that are so important — the tree that I refer to is growing in one of the oldest formed gardens near Adelaide: quite overgrown by various trees, and there are many fig trees in this garden, all vary in fruit and leaves, therefore I conclude they have all been raised from seeds of Smyrna figs I will forward dried leaves of Capri figs separate post4
I am yours faithfully
H B Hughes
