To George Grey   24 May 1891

24/5/91

Private

In the event of this letter, dear Sir George, not being an apt one to submit to the Ministry, could it be published in a local journal there? In Tasmania and in South Australia the course has been adopted to wait on the Premier by a Deputation. Would that be perhaps also the quickest plan in NZ., as it is so desirable that the Vote be printed timely on the estimates, though the disbursement could be deferred until Nordenskiold arrives next year there.

Regardfully

your

Ferd. von Mueller

So we shall likely have two heroes of Geography among us soon, Stanley and Nordenskiold!1

See M and A. C. Macdonald to H. Stanley, November 1891 (in this edition as 91-11-11). Nordenskjold’s proposed visit did not eventuate.
