From Ferdinand von Mueller to Allan McLean   [June 1891]

[Tovey J. R. For transfer to Postal Dept.]1

Tovey had apparently applied for the transfer (see M to T. Wilson, February 1892 (in this edition as 92-02-00e); M would have been required to comment on the application). M's letter was forwarded to the Public Service Board on 1 July 1891 minuted: 'No objection'. However, on the same day, M wrote to Wilson reporting favourably on Tovey's work and recommending, successfully, that his appointment in M's office, a probationary one until then, be made permanent; see M to T. Wilson, 1 July 1891 (in this edition as 91-07-01a).

Letter not found; item is a register entry only, entered on 30 June 1891.
