From Ferdinand von Mueller to Ralph Tate   5 July 1891

Sunday, 5/7/91.

You must have deemed me very remiss, dear Prof Tate, that I did not answer your last kind letter earlier;1 but I have been passing since May or rather beginning of June the eight edition of the Select plants2 through the press, and had to devote much of my time, to work in the Additions, which accrued since the last three years, when the 7th Edition3 (in 1800 copies About ⅔ sold from Gov. Print. Office ⅓ given away by Government) appeared. The Nordenskiold's contemplated south-polar Expedition taxed also my time, as I did wish to prevent, that the summer-season of 1892-1893 should be lost.4 I am with the "Select plants" now only to the end of letter Q, so that I looked merely in a hurry on your plants, and may have to keep the naming of some few over for a short while.

With regardful remembrance your

Ferd. von Mueller.

M. kekwickii?

In B89.12.03, p. 211, M correctly attributes this name to Boeckeler.

Only the first three species named here were included in the list published in Tate (1892).
