These samples are recorded as entries 1848 and 1849 in the stock book of the Technological Museum, (Archives, Powrhouse Museum, Sydney). They are also listed for 26 August 1891 in MRS 89, Day book, 1890-1910, Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. Maiden (1890, 1892) describes the results of his chemical analyses, which were directed at finding patterns of kino types useful for classification of the eucalypts.
