From Ferdinand von Mueller to Eduard von Regel   7 Dec 1891

7/12/91

7 December 1891.

You have added yet another favour, dear friend, to the abundant, even infinite kindness you have shown me during a third of a century, by having the extensive and important extracts made for me, by which the ninth edition of the "Select plants"2 will be enriched.3 The notes will be added with proper acknowledgements. Your letter has touched me deeply! May you regain your strength completely4 and so remain active in our favourite science for a long time yet, even for many, many years, and so belong to your blossoming family here on earth for a long time to come. It is less important for me to continue in my earthly sojourn, because I stand alone in life, since I was orphaned in early boyhood, even though I have side-relatives.5

Always keeping you in respectful remembrance,

your

Ferd. von Mueller.
